Des Griffin - Special Alert Newsletter - November, 2006Dear Friend:

Greetings from a wet and windy Northwest! We hope all our readers a very wonderful THANKSGIVING. We trust it was a joyous occasion. Karen and I spent the day with our extended family which includes our son and daughter, their spouses, and our seven grandchildren whose ages range from 9 months to 16 years.

Unlike many, who were "thankful" only for the opportunity to watch non-stop football games from dawn till dusk on "Turkey Day" (while stuffing their mouths with a superabundance of food and drink), let us not forget the debt we owe to our Founding Fathers, the Pilgrims, and the free men and women who followed in their footsteps. With God's blessing, it was their ideas, initiatives, innovativeness, energy and effort that were responsible for the prosperity our nation still enjoys today. Remember and be thankful for what this special day is all about.

ELECTION DISASTER: MORE "SHOCK AND AWE"

In the midterm elections on November 7, 2006, George W. Bush did it again. In what was truly a day of "Shock and Awe" for his gullible supporters, the great "decider" led them into yet another disaster - one in which the so-called "Republicans" lost control of both House and the Senate. And no wonder. During their almost six years in power, Bush and his administration led members of the "Religious Right," so-called conservatives, and other deluded individuals into a neo-conservative trap from which there was no honorable escape. Following the disastrous events of 9/11 (and the coverup thereof in which powerful elements of the U.S. government certainly played a major role), plus the subsequent phony "war on terrorism," the Texas-sized pied piper of Babylon led the United States into the political morass in which our nation now finds itself. Six years of George W. Bush and his relentless dishonesty (plus his efforts to convert our nation into a Fascist police state) were just too much for even the mindless American people to stomach. They voted for change, apparently any type of change from the policies pursued by "the great destroyer" whose administration did more than almost any other in history to abolish the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Even before becoming president Bush declared, "There ought to be limits to freedom." When challenged on his massive power grab that resulted from his phony "war on terrorism," Bush always resorted to claims that he was only interested in "national security." Those who questioned his policies were enemies. "You are either with us or with the terrorists." What has been called Bush's "state of denial" by Bob Woodward in his new book, has now turned into a sad state of reality for the president. We would be advised to heed Alexander Solzhenitsyn's warning that, "A state of war only serves as an excuse for domestic tyranny."

It should be clear to all that Bush and his neo-conservative inspired policies have all but decimated whatever true conservatism remains in the GOP. They deceived their most sincere and ardent followers and, on Election Day, paid the price. The present mob who pose as republicans and conservatives have abandoned virtually all the true principles upon which the American Republic was based, and have embraced those of the enemy. On moral issues, TV's Politically Incorrect Bill Marr hit on a truth when he quipped that on November 7 many Americans "wanted to vote a straight Republican ticket but couldn't find a straight Republican." What was once known as the Grand Old Party (GOP) is now known in some quarters as the Gay Old Party.

That having been said, no one should delude themselves into thinking that under the Democrat-controlled House and Senate there will be a major change for the better. Sadly, there is no reason for rejoicing on the political front. As Dr. Carroll Quigley astutely observed more than 40 years ago, in such elections Americans voters just replace one bunch of rascals with another bunch of rascals. Under either party, "policies ... are no longer subjects of significant disagreement, but are disputable only in details of procedure, priority, or method"(Tragedy and Hope, Macmillan, 1966, p.1248). Neither of the two main parties have any interest in addressing and solving the massive problems facing America. As Patrick Buchanan has said, "they are two wings of the same bird of prey." By their fruits shall you know them!

Let's face it, the American people have been mere pawns in the game. They have for decades been mindlessly manipulated by leaders who have had a hidden, long-term agenda. They have enthusiastically embraced an endless array of empty and thoroughly misleading and nation-destroying mantras promoted by both the "Republican" and "Democrat" parties. The majority are apparently incapable of grasping the fact that none of the innumerable glowing promises made to them by their "leaders" have ever been fulfilled. Instead, they have inherited the whirlwind, for these policies have been instrumental in undermining and eroding America's power and sovereignty to virtual non-existence. Of course, as stated many times in the past, these ruinous policies were not implemented by error. Nor were they due to mere incompetence. They were put into effect incrementally in a carefully thought out manner. Their purpose is to ultimately destroy America and then merge it into a worldwide dictatorship. For the most part, our political leaders have been used as pawns by the secrets societies in their war against our Constitution and our personal liberties. They plan to enslave our nation in their Luciferian New World Order.

WE ARE AT WAR

fourth Reich of the rich by Des GriffinMake no mistake. We are at war. As documented in books such as Descent Into Slavery? and Fourth Reich of the Rich, war has been waged against the United States for decades. [Each book costs $18 postpaid]. And for decades the American people have been losing that war. As a result, they have virtually lost what were once their constitutionally-guaranteed rights and freedoms. As pointed out in Descent Into Slavery?, our once great nation is going the way of ancient Rome, and for the same reasons. Let's check out some historical facts:
Early in the young life of Marcus Tullius Cicero, the Roman Republic, the foremost world power of its day, had reached it zenith. Its leadership and wealth were unchallenged in the world. Its rulers were intolerant of restraint, indifferent to the demands of the middle class, and contemptuous of the Constitution which was designed to curb their ambitions. It was some 70 years prior to the birth of Christ. At the time Cicero was a student of law under Scaevola, the eminent lawyer of his day. He was shortly to come face-to-face with Political Reality 101.

Cicero's first client was a prosperous businessman - a man of integrity who trusted his government. But as he was a rich man and, because powerful men in govern- ment coveted his wealth, Scaevola was the victim of bureaucratic chicanery. Young Cicero, retained to plead his cause, submitted incontrovertible documentary proof of his client's innocence to the judges. He was confident that justice would prevail. Finding that his apparently irrefutable documentary evidence wasn't being accepted favorably by the judicial system, Cicero turned to his mentor, Scaevola, telling him what course he had followed, and asked why he had failed. Scaevola was disgusted, slammed the table, and shouted: "Imbecile! Of what use are records presented to tribunes, consuls, or senators if the government is determined to rob and destroy a man who has displeased them, or who possesses what they want? Have I truly wasted all these years on such an idiot as this Marcus Tellius Cicero!"

Later, before the Senate Cicero pleaded his client's case against confiscatory taxation, recognizing its deadly affects: "We are taxed in our bread and in our wine, in our incomes and our investments, on our land and on our property, not only for base creatures who do not deserve the name of men, but for foreign nations ... who will bow to us and accept our largesse and promise to assist us in the keeping of the peace - these mendacious nations who will destroy us when we show a moment of weakness or our treasury is bare. We are taxed to maintain legions on their soil in the name of law and order.... Were they bound to us with ties of love, they would not ask our gold. They would only ask our laws. They take our very flesh, and they hate and despise us. And who shall say we are worthy of more?" [See any similarities in 2006 America?]

Turning to his three main foes in the Senate, Cicero declared sadly, "You have succeeded against me. Be it as you will. I will depart..." He then told the Senate, "For this day's work, lords, you have encouraged treason and opened the prison doors to free the traitors. A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor. He speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation. He works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city. He infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the carrier of the plague. You have unbarred the gates of Rome to him."

RESULT? A DICTATORSHIP

Shortly thereafter Julius Caesar, returning from a triumphant campaign against the Celtic and Germanic tribes in northern Europe, paused at the Rubicon River in northern Italy. An ancient Roman laws forbade any general from crossing that river with a standing army. To do so was treason. After "crossing the Rubicon" a few days later, and then defeating a number of Republican armies, Julius Caesar abolished the Roman Republic. He declared himself Emperor and dictator. He was assassinated in 44 B.C. Cicero was assassinated the following year.

It shouldn't take a genius to recognize the startling similarities between what Cicero outspokenly opposed in ancient Rome and what is occurring in America today. As philosopher George Santyana once wrote, "those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

Yes, we are at war but few Americans seem aware of that reality. Most just bumble and stumble about their aimless lives like zombies, unaware of the fact that their "leaders" in Washington, DC - and in state capitols nationwide - have been ruthlessly betraying them and selling them out. Since its humble beginnings in 1985, Midnight Messenger has been documenting in detail what is happening in our nation. We want to give readers a clear overview of the causes for and effects of this betrayal.

Regrettably, most of the "soldiers" who should be participating in this battle for truth and intellectual integrity have proven faint of heart. They have fled the battlefield. They have gone AWOL (Absent Without Leave), hoping somehow to appease the enemy. What short-sighted foolishness! Winston Churchill, long remembered as a great war leader, and the one who inspired the British people during the dark days of World War II, described an appeaser as "one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last." In addition, Churchill gave this excellent advice: "Never give in, never, never, never. In nothing great or small, large or petty. Never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense; never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy."

In this "war" we must remember the Marine motto, Semper Fidelis ("Always Faithful"). We can't afford to cut and run. We must rightly stay the course and, in the words of the famous Harry Lauder song, "keep right on to the end of the road." Any other course is untenable.

On page 4 is a list of additional educational material to help you confront and come to grips with the realities of the world in which we live. Other vital information is found on our web site (midnightmessenger.com). [A free print catalog of books and videos is also available.]

We must remember that the war we are in is spiritual in nature. "We wrestle not against flesh and blood ... but against spiritual wickedness (or wicked spirits) in high places." To survive and thrive, we must take to ourselves "the whole armour of God, that we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand." (Ephesians 6:12-13). In the end we may be assured that our Almighty Creator God will give us the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord (II Corinthians 15:58). He truly is Ever Faithful.
